National Pagan Leadership Skills Conference
Thursday, July 23 - Sunday, July 26, 2009
We constantly hear Pagans talk about the needs of the Pagan Community, but all too often they say "We're too disorganized," "We're too diverse," or the old saw "Pagans are too cheap or too broke." These are excuses. The Pagan Community has grown in numbers in recent years, but more importantly, we've grown up. As we've grown, our needs have changed; The Pagan Community needs leadership, organization, and action. The Pagan Community doesn't need excuses. There are many leaders and groups that have proven, time and again, that it is possible to have Pagan Leadership and Pagan Community Organizations without giving up what makes the Pagan Community special. It's not easy-- our organic, non-centralized nature is our greatest strength, but it makes it hard to organize on a local, regional, or national level. To make matters more difficult, many Pagans fear that organization-- any organization-- will lead to a strict hierarchy that goes against the individualism that drew many of us to Paganism to begin with. What's more, most of our leaders are learning how to do their jobs by trial and error. The rate that Pagan Community Organizations rise and fall is proof that the Pagan Community wants these things, but that it's not always easy. There are specific and straight-forward skills that are needed to get past the excuses and get the work done. Pagans CAN get organized. We can show you how!
Would you believe that four different Pagan Community Organizations, each with its own goals and priorities, could work together in harmony to host a hotel conference? We've been doing it since 2004! Every year, we have brought Pagan leaders of today and tomorrow together with experienced instructors who provide valuable, real-world knowledge of the problems faced by Pagans and Pagan Community Organizations. We can teach you the professional skills you need to help the Pagan Community grow into the 21st Century, including:
